Hey, Young Writers! The Teen Writers Journey to Publication is starting on Tuesday, October 18, at 5:30 pm at your VBDL branch! This program is open to anyone in grades 7-12.
Every other Tuesday through June 6, 2017, writers will work on a different aspect of writing fiction. We will use the Journey to Publication (JTP) program from JLB Creatives Publishing and learn the art and craft of fiction in 16 biweekly sessions. Topics will include the Hook and the Cliffhanger, Writing Action, Character Development, Story and Plot and much more!
Writers at each branch will be connected in a Skype videoconference. Even if no one else shows up at your branch, you will be connected to a whole community of young writers through Skype!
In June 2017, each writer will have a short story published in an anthology. Two writers will be chosen to submit their stories for eBook publication. Your story will be shared, available in the VBDL collection for people to check out! Plus, you’ll have your own copy to keep.
Come on a journey with us! Email Jeffrey Babbitt at jbabbitt@vbdl.org or call your VBDL branch today and sign up! Phone numbers are below:
