#VBDL Cares November
DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – While November is most often associated with pumpkin pie, football, and deals on holiday shopping, Van Buren District Library is designating it as a time of caring. #VBDL Cares November is a month-long event to encourage contributions to food pantries and charitable organizations throughout its service area.
Beginning November 1, VBDL will accept non-perishable food items and personal care items at each of its seven locations. The recipients are the food pantries at St. John Bosco Parish, Mattawan; Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bangor; and the United Methodist Church, Lawrence; the Love Network at the Bloomingdale Christian Church; Gobles-Kendall Area Ministerial Association, Decatur Human Services, and We Care, Inc., which is affiliated with churches in Covert and South Haven.
As an added incentive, VBDL will waive fines of up to $5.00, one time per patron, in exchange for contributions of non-perishable food items and personal care products.
Van Buren District Library encourages all residents to donate generously at its branches in Bangor, Bloomingdale, Covert, Decatur, Gobles, Lawrence and Mattawan. To locate the closest branch, phone 269.423.4771 or visit http://www.vbdl.org/branch-locations/.
