Millage Proposal Information

The library proposal is asking for an additional 0.2 mills (20¢ per $1,000 of taxable value)
to be levied for a period of ten (10) years, 2015 through 2024.

What this means to taxpayers:

For the owner of a home with a market value of

$50,000 – an additional $5 per year

$100,000 – an additional $10 per year

$200,000 – an additional $20 per year

The Library’s operating millage amount of 1 mill was originally passed by voters in 1991. Due to the Headlee rollback, the Library can only levy a maximum of .8917.

• Paw Paw District Library – 1.7507

• Van Buren District Library – .8917
