- Check-out limits: No limit on number of books. There is a limit of 10 (ten) DVDs and 6 (six) magazines at one time.
- Check-out periods:
New adult fiction and nonfiction books check out for two weeks.
All other books and audiobooks, excluding Hot Picks, check out for three weeks at a time.
Hot Picks check out for one week and may not be renewed.
DVDs and magazines check out for one week.
All items, except Hot Picks, may be renewed no more than two times, if there are no reserves on them.
- Late fees: Late fees are computed per item, per day.
Children’s Books: .05¢ per day. $3.00 maximum per item.
Adult and Young Adult Books: .10¢ per day. $3.00 maximum per item.
DVDs: .25¢ per day. $3.00 maximum per item.
Hot Picks: .25¢ per day.
Reference Materials: $1.00 per day. $3.00 maximum per item.

Internet and Wi-Fi
Each VBDL branch has a bank of computers for public use. Logging in requires a valid VBDL card and pin number. Out-of-town visitors may request a guest pass at the circulation desk. A valid photo ID is required to obtain a guest pass. Free WiFi is also available at all locations.
Black and white copies from either a printer or copier is 15¢ per page. Color copies are 40¢ per page.
VBDL can send faxes to any location in the continental United States. Cost is $2.00 for the first page (a cover page is free). Additional pages are $1.00 each. The cost to receive a fax at any VBDL location is $1.00 per page.
A variety of meeting rooms exist throughout the VBDL system. Contact the nearest branch for availability and appropriate use.
