VBDL WEBSTER MEMORIAL TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY
DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – Van Buren District Library’s headquarters in Decatur is set to close temporarily, but for a positive reason.
According to Library Director Dan Hutchins, Webster Memorial Library, VBDL’s flagship location will be closed for approximately three weeks beginning Friday, October 30.
“This renovation has been in the planning stages for a very long time,” Hutchins says. “After some unanticipated delays it’s finally happening. By early next year our patrons will have a greatly improved Webster Memorial Library to be proud of.
“We are grateful to our stakeholders for their generosity in funding this project, namely the Webster Memorial Trust and the Van Buren District Library Board. It should also be noted this project would have never gotten off the ground if not for a $45,000 grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.”
Hutchins reminds patrons that even though Webster Memorial will be closed for about three weeks, VBDL’s six other locations will remain open and operating as usual during that time.
