VBDL RETURNS TO CURBSIDE SERVICE
DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – VBDL is moving all seven locations to curbside service beginning November 18.
According to Associate Director Molly Wunderlich, the District is complying with the recent epidemic order from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
“While we are confident the library’s current safety protocols remain effective, we do recognize the need for tighter restrictions that will provide greater safety for staff and patrons.”
Wunderlich says limited inside services will still be offered by appointment. Patrons needing to send a fax, make copies, pick up materials, or conduct business or schoolwork on a public computer may do so by calling their local branch ahead of time. Patrons who do make an appointment to enter any VBDL location are requested to plan on one person per household per visit, if possible. Masks are required per library policy. Time limits will be enforced.
Wunderlich says this model will remain in effect through December 8 or until other directives are issued by the Health Department.
For more information, phone 269.423.4771 or email info@vbdl.org. Van Buren District Library is headquartered in Decatur with branches in Bangor, Bloomingdale, Covert, Gobles, Lawrence and Mattawan.
