It’s been a slim year for my nonfiction selections, but, if you’re like me and bemoan the Bear’s continued embrace of Jay Cutler, relive better times with Rich Cohen’s Monsters: the 1985 Chicago Bears.
If you bypassed Solomon Northrup’s memoir in favor of Steve McQueen’s and Ridley Scott’s interpretation of Twelve Years a Slave, do yourself a favor – read the book. Be prepared, however, reality is much harsher than Hollywood.
