INKTOBER DRAWING CONTEST OFFERED AT VAN BUREN DISTRICT LIBRARY

DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – Creativity abounds during the spookiest time of the year. This October, individuals age 10 to 18 can channel their inner artist by participating in Van Buren District Library’s Inktober Drawing Contest for the chance to turn their doodles into dollars.

Celebrating the thirteen days of Halloween, the VBDL Inktober Drawing Contest begins Monday, October 19, and continues through Saturday, October 31. A new two-word drawing prompt, such as cuddly bat or grumpy ghost, is shared on all VBDL Facebook pages each day.  Participants then use the prompt as inspiration when creating their drawing. Drawing prompts can also be found on VBDL’s online calendar at vbdl.org.

Completed drawings can be submitted electronically at info@vbdl.org or in person at any VBDL location.

For each illustration completed, participants earn one entry into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. Participants can enter the contest every day or just when the daily drawing prompt really inspires them. The winner is announced Monday, November 2.

For more information, phone 269.668.2534 or email info@vbdl.org. Van Buren District Library is headquartered in Decatur with branches in Bangor, Bloomingdale, Covert, Gobles, Lawrence and Mattawan.
