Our living room and kitchen windows overlooked the feeder. Of course, the squirrels made just as much use of the feeder as the birds did. I remember my mom occasionally complaining to my dad about the squirrels, but even though they talked about it they never resorted to the obvious solution, which was installing a baffle. One day, I was sitting in the living room near the window, and my mom walked by and looked out the window at the feeder. A squirrel was happily gorging itself on whatever feed was there. My mom started banging on the window and yelling at the squirrel. The squirrel looked up and I promise you it LAUGHED at her, then it looked back down and continued stuffing itself. I don’t remember when my parents finally gave up on the bird feeder. I do know that when I look out the window at my own bird/squirrel feeder, I say mean things to myself about the squirrels, but I leave them be because I don’t want any squirrels laughing at me!
These books show that there’s something for everyone in squirrel-land: for the little ones, Miss Suzy finds that her Easter plans have gone awry, but it turns out better than she had expected. For older readers, some lessons on vacuum-handling, and some serious (and not-so-serious) tips on dealing with the squirrels in your life, when you just don’t have the heart to break out the vacuum.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
