Important Notice from Team VBDL
In accordance with recommendations by the CDC and Van Buren Cass District Health Department, and in keeping with internal procedures, Van Buren District Library has closed the Covert Branch out of an abundance of caution due to potential COVID-19 exposures. This will continue to be the response and course of action should another possible exposure occur. We will reopen the branch as soon as we are able.
Since reopening branches to the public June 11th, the Library has been following strict cleaning protocols in addition to wearing masks, socially distancing from patrons, and using large plastic sneeze guards at service desks. Staff have been following the Board approved Reopening Plan which is available to the public on VBDL.org. These efforts will continue at our other branches.
Closed branches will reopen when appropriate to do so. These facilities will be thoroughly sanitized before reopening. As a public place, the library is committed to regular cleaning and sanitizing of locations in an effort to protect staff, patrons, and ensure the ongoing health of the community.

Election Day 2020!
If you’ve voted already in the 2020 General Election, kudos to you! If you still need some more information, VBDL recommends two great sources:
- The League of Women Voters 2020 Nonpartisan Voter Guide
- Michigan Voter Information Center has the answers to many of your questions, such as What’s on the Ballot? Where are my official ballot drop boxes? Did my ballot arrive? Where do I go to vote? and so much more!
