I get catalogs in the mail all the time. LOTS of catalogs. I really don’t mind finding my mailbox stuffed with catalogs. I look through them like I used to look through the old Montgomery Ward Christmas catalog “Wish Book”. I have found books and videos, music and clothing, and all sorts of unique items for friends, family and, of course, myself. I could never afford to buy everything that I would like to get unless I won the lottery. So I continue to dream.

I love the jewelry catalogs the most. There are so many pretty, sparkly necklaces, bracelets and earrings and such. I look at them and sigh and……… Hey, I can make that, I think. I’ve started tearing out the pictures and setting them aside as “future projects”. I have a box full of those “future projects”. And then I saw the Wrap Bracelet.

I was bound and determined to figure out how to make one of them. I went to Pinterest and tracked down several different types of wrap bracelets to try out. I looked through my book catalogs for possible titles. I scoured the library catalog and the MeL catalog to find books on bracelet making, specifically wrap bracelets.

So, now I know how to make wrap bracelets. I have made several for family members and friends. I have taught a few people how to make them, too. I made one for myself and have plans to make a couple more. The library has been offering jewelry classes and the wrap bracelet classes are very popular. It’s my fault. I admit it. They’re addictive – like chocolate!
