Star Wars: Skywalker Strikes by Jason Aaron and John Cassidy is a near perfect Star Wars tale. These two have made all of these characters that you know and love so believable. Whenever a character says or does something in this graphic novel I can actually picture Luke or Han or Leia or whomever actually saying or doing that in a movie. Aaron has such a good grasp on what makes these characters unique and exciting.
The only character that I feel Aaron doesn’t do justice to is Boba Fett. This might be a bit nitpicky, but Boba Fett doesn’t need to have a ton of dialogue. The reader should be able to discern his motives or reaction just by the way he holds himself, or a slight tip of his helmet. Fett only had four lines in the entire Original Trilogy, there is no need for him to question bar tenders for five pages.
Other than my minor complaints with this book, I had a blast reading it. I felt like I was reading an unused script for a secret Original Trilogy Star Wars movie. While not only managing to tell its own compelling story Aaron and Cassidy manage to fill in some gaps and questions between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. I highly recommend this book for any Star Wars fan, especially if you’re trying to delve into the Star Wars books for the first time.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
